‘‘Subject A’’, oil on canvas, 12×10
Amna’s unsettling oil pain portrait of a distorted humanoid figure against a dark background. The figure has oversized glowing eyes, one red and one pale white, that dominate the face to create an intense, haunting expression. It’s a portrayal of what reality looks like for most, in her words ‘‘who see it as it truly is.’’
Character design:
‘‘Springman’’, character design, 2020
This character design started as a hand drawn sketch on paper before being developed further in Photoshop. The character is a skeleton wrapped in a flesh like suit, creating a disturbing but emotional appearance. A glowing golden heart inside the body symbolizes humanity and warmth beneath the exterior. The process focused on combining rough traditional sketching with digital painting and texture work to create a raw, expressive final design.
‘‘Springboy’’, stop motion figure, 2020
“Springboy” is a handmade stop motion figure built from an old wire hanger armature and covered in sculpted clay. After shaping the body by hand, the figure was painted with acrylics to give it a rough, expressive texture. The movable structure allows it to be posed and animated for stop-motion, combining sculpture, character design, and practical animation techniques into one physical character.
‘‘Priori’’, character design, 2021
This character design combines the appearance of a small bird with dark, organic fantasy elements. Tree like branches grow from its head and back, blending nature with mutation to create an eerie but delicate creature. Detailed feathers, thin legs, and muted natural colors contrast with the twisted shapes, giving the character a strange and haunting personality.
‘‘tutto passa’’, oil on canvas, 16×10
A series of six oil paintings exploring the process of decay, loss, and the forced removal of the ability to live a happy life. Each piece depicts stages of deterioration, both physical and emotional, where the figures gradually lose vitality and dissolve into abstracted forms. The imagery shifts between subtle decay and more intense, distorted moments, suggesting a quick and unnatural end. Thick, expressive brushstrokes and dark, muted tones create a heavy atmosphere, emphasizing themes of soul draining exhaustion and imposed suffering throughout the series.
‘‘Thailand Monk Kicking Police During A Protest.’’, oil on canvas, 6×6, 2022
An oil painting of a Thai monk in orange robes kicking toward riot police during a street protest in Thailand, November 2022. Wet streets, smoke, and flashing lights create a tense atmosphere. Thick textured brushstrokes, dramatic lighting, and strong contrast between the bright robes and dark police gear give the scene energy and emotion.
‘‘Lindsay Lohan Hides Under Table at Brazilian Nightclub’’, oil on canvas, 6×6, 2025
An oil painting of a troubled young woman hiding beneath a nightclub DJ booth in São Paulo, Brazil. Empty glasses, dim neon lights, and a crowded party scene surround her as she sits on the floor with her hand on her forehead. The painting uses dark tones, soft brushstrokes, and a moody atmosphere to capture isolation, fame, and emotional exhaustion.
‘‘How Long Am I To Be An Involuntary Test Subject or Cruel Technologies?’’, oil on canvas, 6×6, 2026
The small 6×6 canvas creates a sense of confinement, turning an ordinary truck window into a tense and emotional scene about surveillance, vulnerability, and distance.
‘‘Omegle’’, oil on canvas, 6×5, 2024
An oil painting showing a recorded style internet chat inspired by an Omegle conversation, preserved like an Internet Archive snapshot. Two anonymous figures appear through distorted screens, representing a political debate between opposing viewpoints. The composition uses digital glitch effects and thick paint textures to emphasize tension, miscommunication, and the fleeting nature of online encounters.
‘‘Depression Memes’’, oil on canvas, 6×5, 2024
An oil painting depicting a cow standing in shallow ocean water, looking out toward the distant horizon. The scene is rendered like a chat log, with layered text elements over the image as if the painting is part image, part digital conversation. Smaller fragmented text includes the title “20 depression memes,” adding a surreal and ironic contrast to the calm, melancholic coastal setting. The composition blends digital language with traditional oil texture, creating a strange mix of humor, isolation, and reflection.
‘‘Full Force’’, oil on canvas, 6×5, 2024
“Full Force” is a documentary style oil painting inspired by an internet culture scene, based on a real online video about a YouTuber known as AirsoftFatty. In the composition, a central figure is portrayed in a raw, observational way, surrounded by fragments of everyday life, internet humor, and chaotic reality. The painting blends realism with documentary-like framing, as if capturing an unfiltered moment from someone’s life. Thick brushstrokes and muted tones give it a gritty, slightly uncomfortable atmosphere, reflecting themes of online fame, identity, and the blurred line between entertainment and real life.
‘‘Past’’, acrylics on canvas, 16×10
A portrait oil painting of Kurt Cobain, created by Amna at the age of 17. The work captures a raw and emotional interpretation of the musician, focusing on his tired expression and introspective gaze. Loose brushstrokes and muted tones emphasize vulnerability and fragility rather than realism. The portrait feels intimate and expressive, reflecting both admiration and an attempt to understand his emotional weight through paint.
‘‘Horizon’’, acrylics on canvas, 22×26, 2018
An oil painting depicting a view of the Atlantic Ocean from Prince Edward Island, where Amna attended high school. The scene shows vivid blue skies stretching above dark, restless waters, capturing the contrast between calm atmosphere and the powerful movement of the ocean. Thick brushstrokes and layered tones of blue and gray emphasize depth and distance, creating a reflective and atmospheric landscape rooted in memory and place.
‘‘Self portrait’’, oil on canvas, 10×14, 2021
A self portrait oil painting of the artist lying down in a quiet, introspective pose, holding a Stratocaster guitar close to her body. In one hand, she holds a phone taking a selfie, capturing a moment of stillness and self reflection. The composition uses muted tones and soft brushwork to express a depressive, withdrawn state. The guitar represents identity and creativity, while the phone adds a modern layer of self observation, emphasizing isolation and emotional distance.

“Solitude’’, photo series, Canon EOS Rebel T7, 24.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4+ processor, 1080p video.
This photo series explores solitude and human connection through the stillness of wilderness during the COVID-19 pandemic. By documenting isolated landscapes, wild animals, and lone individuals encountered along the way, the artist reflects on themes of distance, introspection, and coexistence. The quiet presence of nature contrasts with the emotional weight of isolation, capturing a moment in time where both humans and wildlife seemed to exist in parallel silence.
‘‘Moomin’’, photo series, Canon EOS Rebel T7, 24.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4+ processor, 1080p video.
A playful yet meaningful photo series capturing Amna’s pet rabbit, Moomin, exploring the beach with curiosity and charm. Through soft coastal imagery and candid moments, the series highlights the gentle personality rabbits have; animals that are sadly among the most abused and misunderstood pets in the world. The project also includes a fun nod to Moomin’s unexpected appearance in a PewDiePie video.
